Outline of Annual Research Achievements

The research results have been able to presented in international conferences which enhance the international awareness of the Japanese character-based video game industry context, in addition to the theoretical advancements on the cultural configuration for innovation.
As achievements of the project, besides the project’s research has been presented in two international conferences in America and Pacific region and two forums in South Africa, the outcomes of the project also include a section manuscript in a book published with an international reputed publisher, a working paper publication. In addition, a case publication is in the final process to be published in an international reputed case center, a manuscript has been submitted and under review of a SSCI journal, and another manuscript will be submitted to a SSCI journal for review and publication.
The manuscript published in the book provides the investigation of a dynamic evolving digital sector that Japan excels with its open innovation and the fuzziness of boundary between firms and stakeholders for knowledge sharing, which could be practically useful for policy makers for industrial decisions as well as for firms' strategy decision making. The working paper provides a comprehensive semi-structured review of literature to advance the field theory on the contribution of culture to innovation. The business case
practically provides the first hand materials for management professionals to learn this video game digital platform setting for management.
