Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study developed teaching materials using data-driven learning (DDL) in Japanese language classes, and their effectiveness in improving learners' Japanese grammar skills, identified as an issue based on various surveys, was verified. DDL is a learner-centered learning method used mainly in second-language education. Here, learners learn by observing linguistic data, noticing the language rules by themselves. Based on a detailed analysis of issues related to grammar skills, Japanese DDL teaching materials were developed, and classroom practice confirmed instruction effectiveness.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
国語の学習にDDLを援用した教材を使用する事例は,前例がなく新規的である。言語分析力を養い,考える力を引き出すDDLは,言語能力の育成に寄与するだけでなく,深い学びにも繋がる。日本語非母語話者の学習者も増加している現在,母語話者の直感だけに頼らず,帰納的に規則を発見できる学習は重要である。国語科では質的調査が主流であるが,実験等量的調査も行った結果,文法力向上に対する有効性を客観的に実証した教材を現場に提供することができた。
