Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we developed a financial consumer education learning program (particularly a lesson plan that utilizes museum exhibits and curators) to cultivate economic literacy, mainly for 4th to 6th grade elementary school students, based on teaching materials from the Boston Children's Museum in the United States. We conducted a questionnaire survey of teachers' awareness of financial consumer education, and found that current teachers need easy-to-understand lesson plans and curricula.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の学術的意義の一つ目は、アメリカのボストン・チルドレンミュージアムの教材を手掛かりとして我が国の小学校４年生から６年生を対象として社会科・算数・理科の内容を含む総合的に経済リテラシーを育む学習プログラムを開発したことである。二つ目は、１５５名の教員に対し、金融消費者教育の実践に関わるアンケートを実施した結果を分析したところ、分かりやすい指導案やカリキュラムを必要としていることを明らかにしたことである。
