Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Japanese language reading ability and learning achievement of school age hearing-impaired children were examined using Comprehensive Assessment of Reading Domains (CARD) and Norm Referenced Test(NRT), a standard academic ability test.The subjects were 186 school age hearing-impaired children in a special support school (hearing impaired). The results were as follows; 1) We obtained continuous basic data on Japanese reading ability and learning achievement of school age hearing-impaired children. 2) Japanese reading ability of school age hearing-impaired children were not lower than that of primary school children. 3) We tried to introduce “Jishobiki" learning method into a vocabulary learning program.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
聴覚障害児童の日本語読み能力と学習到達度の評価に,小学生を対象として標準化された包括的領域別読み能力検査(CARD)を用いた包括的な評価と標準学力検査(NRT)を試みた。聴覚障害児教育の課題である日本語読み能力の向上や学力の向上に対応するための基礎的な情報を得られた。また「辞書引き」学習法を導入し,聴覚障害児童の語彙学習に活用した。その結果,聴覚障害児童の日本語読み能力向上や学力向上には,個別最適な学習の検討が必要だと考えられた。
