Outline of Final Research Achievements

With the aim of exploring the knowledge space of general informatics education from the data of thousands of students obtained from the information placement tests (IPT), this research was conducted in three areas: "development and implementation of IPT," "construction and exploration of knowledge space," and "learning content development." From the analysis and practical results of the IPT and learning contents developed based on the body of knowledge for general informatics education, we obtained many findings that will be useful for the creation of new general informatics education regarding the understanding of the current situation of university students, the usefulness of learning contents, and classroom practice at the Corona Disaster.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

情報環境の進展、初等中等教育での情報教育の高度化等に合わせ、大学での一般情報教育は常に見直されてきた。さまざまな要因により社会は変化し続けており、数年単位での一般情報教育の見直しが必要と考えられる中、情報プレースメントテスト結果に基づき、学習者の習得済み知識を把握するための理論の整備と、学習コンテンツの開発と評価を進めた本研究は、一般情報教育と学習者の現状に合わせた新しい教育を検討するための基礎になるという意義を持つ。
