Outline of Final Research Achievements

The procedure of producing lower secondary school education programs to foster natural disaster prevention literacy for certain local residents has been developed. And, then, more than 300 of such education programs have been tried to create and confirmed that they are consistency with the lower secondary school science learnings under the Japanese government course of study revised in 2017.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

わが国のとりわけ義務教育段階における喫緊の課題とされてきた地域に暮らす市民が自然災害に直面した際の防災・減災のための賢明な思考力・判断力の形成を促進する中学校理科における防災学習授業の設計手順が開発された。本研究の成果、すなわち、この防災学習授業の設計手順が広く普及し、地域に暮らす市民に役立つ防減災学習の実践が広く普及することで、自然災害に対する科学的に妥当な知識や技能、思考・判断力を身につけた市民が多数となり、科学的に妥当な各地域の防災・減災対策が飛躍的に発達することが期待される。
