Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We succeeded mass measurements of neutron rich nuclei with the Rare-RI Ring for the elucidation of the r-process abundances. The final result were recently published in Physical Review Letter. The new mass value of 123Pd that was used in astrophysical calculation of neutron start merger event, resulted in the reproduction of solar r-process abundance for the ratio of masses A=122 and A=123. We have also finalized the development of new type of position-sensitive detector and a publication summarizing the achievement is under preparation. The resolution of the detector is almost similar to that of the standard RIBF position diagnostics detectors with the advantage of being usable under the high vacuum condition inside the Rare-RI Ring.
