Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research project is to quantitatively clarify the structural effects of the row of buildings that are often found in historic towns. The following results were obtained. 1) Based on the results of a total survey conducted mainly in the historical towns of Kanazawa and Takaoka, as well as on the results of previous surveys, the extraction and distribution of adjacent conditions that can produce the effect of row houses were investigated, and the adjacent conditions that should be evaluated and verified were clarified. 2) Vibration experiments, seismic observations, and seismic response analysis were conducted on actual townhouse buildings to understand the analytical evaluation and actual behavior of townhouse buildings in rows. 3) Based on the results of the investigations and analyses, a seismic retrofitting method was studied.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
