Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Perovskite solar cells (PVs), which feature promising high efficiency and low-cost, are attracting the attentions of academia and industry. One of the scientific questions at the core of this research is related to the toxicity of Pb compounds (e.g. PbI2) in MAPbI3 Perovskite that might hinder their commercialization. Although, various approaches to develop Pb-free PVs have been explored, the reported efficiencies in particular on Sn-based compounds (e.g. MASnI3) are still lower than that of Pb-based PVs. Our research purpose, using our original “Reactive Polyiodide Melt” (RPM) method (I. Turkevych, S. Kazaoui, et al. Nature Nanotechnology, 14 (1), 57 (2019)), is to further explore Pb-free absorber layers for solar cells (PVs) by substituting Pb for non-toxic earth-abundant metals (e.g. X=Sn, Cu, Bi etc) to make Perovskite (or Perovskite-like).

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Progress are in accordance with our research plan.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
1st, we will complete the study on MAPbI3 and MASnI3 synthesized the PRM method. Then investigate a broader range of transitions metal in accordance with our research plan.
2nd, we will complete the study on MASnI3 prepare by RPM and solution process (such as XRD, time resolved photo-luminescence, solar cells characterization) and submit the manuscript.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The incurring amount will be used according to our research plan and Kakenhi's rules.
