Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In Mie Prefecture, large-scale solar panels were installed at 2,521 locations between 2015 and 2016, and at an additional 5,121 locations between 2016 and 2021. When solar panel installation locations overlapped with pre-FIT land cover/use, many solar panels were installed in forests during both periods. In addition, 0.39 km2 of solar panels overlapped with landslide-prone areas in 2015-2016 and 0.96 km2 in 2016-2021. When we identified effective locations for solar panel installation and overlaid the installed solar panels, we found that 30 to 40% were installed in low-priority locations.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
