Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We have continue the analysis of the E. berryi genome and the annotation of developmental genes by performing gene family reconstruction, domain annotation and phylogenetic analysis for a number of developmental genes. We started the sequencing of the samples and realised that we had to optimise the protocol a bit. In the meantime, we decided to try to develop a spatial transcriptomics approach which could be insightful to detect differentially expressed genes during squid limb development. We also analysed HiC chromatin conformation data around Hox cluster of the squid. We also started development HCR in situ hybridisation to optimise gene expression characterisation in squid.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The covid has complicated the procurement of biological samples this year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We will sequence more samples next year and start gene expression monitoring of candidates.

Causes of Carryover |
Sequencing remaining samples and resupply of reagents
