Outline of Annual Research Achievements

During the 2023-2024 financial year, Proboscia spp. in the Sendai samples (Late Miocene) were photographed. The images of Proboscia spp. in the entire collection were sorted and described. New species were identified in Late Cretaceous (Devon Is., Cesar 6, Moreno Shale, DSDP Leg 29), Paleocene-Eocene (Central Arctic, Archangelsk, Smolkovo, Kamischev, Mors, Norwegian Sea, Israel, Barbados, California, Oamaru), Oligocene (Komandorsky Is.), Miocene (Hungary, Japan) and Pliocene (ODP Leg 120) samples. Some of the results were presented at the 26th International Diatom Symposium (Aug.-Sept. 2023, Yamagata).
