引き続き悪性胸膜中皮腫を対象に腫瘍の免疫逃避機構を解明すべく研究を継続し、投稿中であった、悪性胸膜中皮腫の組織標本を用いた免疫組織化学反応法による腫瘍組織内HLA class I発現、腫瘍ならびに免疫細胞内PD-L1発現、腫瘍浸潤CD8陽性T細胞についての解析結果を、英文原著論文「Effects of tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells, PD1/PD-L1 axis, and expression patterns of HLA class I on the prognosis of patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma who underwent extra-pleural pneumonectomy」として、報告することができた。
また、抗腫瘍免疫は炎症や栄養の影響を受けるとされることから、悪性胸膜中皮腫患者の術前血液検査所見と予後との関連について着目した。具体的には、血清C-reactive protein、アルブミン、末梢血好中球:リンパ球分画比率と臨床病理学的因子、組織内PD-L1発現との関連について統計解析を行い、結果は2編の英文原著論文「Prognostic values of preoperative C-reactive protein, albumin, and neutrophil ratios in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma who underwent extrapleural pneumonectomy」ならびに「Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio correlates with PD-L1 expression in immune cells of patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma and predicts prognosis」として報告した。
以上、悪性胸膜中皮腫における術後予後予測因子と腫瘍微小環境について新たな知見を得ることができ、研究成果を3編の英文原著論文として報告した。
