Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This study which applies a choice experiment method to examining the Japanese public's priorities for end of life care options focused on Advance Care Planning decisions continued in AY2021. There has been new progress in the methodology readings which are being incorporated into the study for stronger analysis with a revised statistical plan. The data collections is prepared for the start of AY2022 as there was delay. With the identification on new literature, the DCE questionnaire was updated early in this year before the IRB approval of the translated amended plan was undertaken. The schedule for the final DCE survey has been amended to the start of AY2022. The statistical plan has been updated and the data collection planned. Research meetings continued mostly online due to travel restrictions. Data collection is prepared and ready to start with the new year. The results will then be analysed and disseminated in AY2022.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The study is progressing, but the data collection was postponed for the updating the Choice Experiment content in line with a revised plan. A further Ethics review and design were part of the decision to shift the data collection timeline.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The data collection has been scheduled for the 2022 May and then the updated statistical plan will be applied. Following this, the dissemination will be initiated with the papers and conference presentations. (The bulk of the budget has been requested to be transferred to the new year for these purposes.)
|
Causes of Carryover |
The budget for next year is primarily to be used for two purposes. After the spending on the final data collection contract, the bulk will be used for dissemination through academic journal Open Access fees and conferences fees.
