Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the PY 2019, we have managed to 1- Visit the Egyptian side and the feild for data collection. 2- Conduct a mini-seminar at Minia University and train the team in Egypt. 3- Get the Minia University's Ethical Review Board (IRB) approval for our comparative study and all the official approval for data collection in Egypt. 4- We completed the field visit of the Japanese investigators to the Egyptian institute involved in the comparative study. 5- Finish data collection of Egyptian side. 6- Finish data entry of the Egyptian side. 7- Finish data clearance of the Egyptian side. 8- Finish data transfer from Egypt to Osaka University. 9- Secure the obtained anonymous data from Minia University, Egypt in a newly purchased stand alone PC, with no access allowed except for the PI. 10- Apply for the Osaka University's Ethical Review Board (IRB) approval for the comparative study (procedures are in progress). 11-Collect some literature review related to the research topic.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Currently, we are applied for the Osaka University's Ethical Review Board (IRB) procedures to approve the protocol that Osaka University will host and analyse both the Egyptian data from Minia University and the Japanese data from the Aichi Civil workers cohort for the comparative study. We are collecting literature review related to the research topic. We are making preliminary analysis (descriptive) for the obtained Egyptian data. We are in frequent contact with the team at Nagoya University, Japan and Minia University, Egypt to discuss data analysis and manuscript writing. Nagoya University will send the opt out consent to the participants of the Aichi civil Workers cohort after we got the approval from Osaka University's Ethical Review Board (IRB).
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
1- Working on responding to all the inquiries raised by Osaka University's Ethical Review Board (IRB)committee. 2- Preparing with professor. Hiroshi Yatsuya the required documents for the Nagoya University's Ethical Review Board (IRB) which are required to send the opt out consent to the Aichi Civil Workers cohort participants. 3- Making preliminary and descriptive data analysis of the obtained Egyptian Data. 4- Collecting relevant literature review for the research topic.

Causes of Carryover |
In the first PY (2019), we have finished data collection in Egypt. The actual paid thank you fee for data collection and entry was less than the estimated amount. We did not buy or rent equipment used for data collection because Minia University lent them for free to us; therefore, the amount for equipment purchase were saved.
We will use the remaining amount of the PY 2019 budget in the 2020 PY to help in having goods and software to be used in the statistical analysis, collection of literature review, and local travel for meetings with co-investigators and collaborators in Nagoya University.
