Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We previously reported that peripheral serotonin plays an important role in drug-induced hyperthermia under high ambient temperature using a 5-HT2A agonist 25B-NBOMe. In this study, we tried to clarify the role of TRPV receptors on the skin which sense the temperature. As a result, 25B-NBOMe related hyperthermia was not observed under TRPV4 receptor agonist stimulation, nor vice versa, suggesting that TRPV4 is not relevant to changes in peripheral serotonin levels according to ambient temperature.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
