Outline of Final Research Achievements

To enhance opportunities for individuals with mental disabilities to attain social well-being, we conducted a qualitative study and literature review on their current daily lives and employment status, with a focus on the sustainability of both. In the qualitative study, we investigated the issues of present conditions, community life, and employment. We identified several issues, including the significant impact of symptoms on daily life and employment, the difficulty of modifying daily routines during severe symptom phases, and the community's lack of understanding of the illness. The literature review indicated that while the employment prospects for them are broadening, there is a substantial risk of job cessation due to the nature of their disabilities. Additionally, the impact of social conditions, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbates the difficulty in maintaining mental and social stability, underscoring the necessity of ongoing support to achieve social well-being.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
