Outline of Final Research Achievements

The objective of this study was to evaluate the metabolic response of the body to a combination of major and micronutrients, and to determine whether a 24-hour urine storage method can be used to assess mineral nutritional status. In animal studies, high-fat diets decreased intestinal calcium absorption, and increased magnesium and phosphorus absorption compared to high-carbohydrate diets, and affected the absorption and metabolism of minerals. In addition, we evaluated the mineral balance in healthy women after a prescribed diet for a certain period of time using the 24-hour urine storage method, and found that it is possible to evaluate the mineral balance as an estimate.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
