| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究では、５年(2019-2023年)計画で、人間の主観的知識を心の機能モデルを介して体系的に接地可能な形式で表現・計算する演繹システムを構成し、ロボットの時空間言語理解機能の核として実装し仮想的な人型ロボットでのシミュレーションを試みている。今年度は、年次計画に基づき大きく３項目（（１）単語句の意味分析・記述、（２）主観的法則の抽出および形式化、（３）心の機能モデルの精緻化）に亘って研究を遂行し、良好な結果を得た。2019年に出版した著書(M. Yokota: Natural Language Understanding and Cognitive Robotics, CRC Press, 2019.)は、全米図書館協会発刊のChoice(October 2020 Vol. 58 No. 2)でのReviewで概略下記のような高評価を得ることができた。

コロナ禍のため関連する国際学会が中止となり研究成果へのフィードバックが十分でなかったと感じている。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
当初の計画通り、近い将来に予想される自然言語による一般人と家庭用ロボットのコミュニケーションにおいて、それを阻害する可能性のある認知機構の差異に起因する認知障壁（Cognitive Divide）を本質的に解消するために、人間の認知機能のモデルを擁し、同等の自然言語理解能力を備えた人間・ロボット対話管理システムの開発を前年度に引き続き行っていく。具体的な研究計画および方法は下記の通りである。
１）単語句の意味分析・記述：英語シソーラスから抽出した単語句（約2000個）の意味分析・記述を関連する属性空間”色立体”や“味覚立体”に相当）との対応において行う。２）主観的法則の抽出および形式化：同一事象を指示しうる複数の異なる表現（すなわちパラフレーズ）を収集し法則化する。下記の例文S1-S4参照。３）モデルの精緻化：実験用に試作した対話管理システムCoMaSの原型に実装している仮想的ロボット(Anna)、人物(Taro)およびその環境を詳細なモデルとして表現・実装する。現時点で、前者はヘルパーロボット、後者は歩行困難な老人で、小さな町に住んでいるという設定である。
