Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, subjects were asked to watch one of two types of lecture videos: one in which the speaker gives a lecture with gestures, and the other in which the speaker gives a lecture without gestures. The results showed that the lecture video with speaker's gestures was more likely to improve comprehension of the lecture content, and to increase concentration level and motivation. In addition, we conducted a counseling session in a VR space with two avatars, one wearing a white lab coat and the other wearing casual clothes. As a result, the white lab coat effect was confirmed in the avatar wearing it, suggesting the possibility that this effect could be quantified as one of the objective behavioral indicators. Furthermore, we showed that in an environment where moving images and still images are mixed, moving images attracted more attention and interest, and that moving images scored significantly higher than still images in the reaffirmation task.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の目的は、心理専門職ではない一般人でも、若者1人1人に適応した応援・声掛け・サポートができる技術を確立することである。その第一歩として、若者1人1人のやる気・意欲を、感性工学的手法と心理学的手法を融合して可視化・評価することに重大な意義がある。VR空間上でアバターを使ったメンタルサポートの可能性を検討すること、学習意欲が向上する講義動画について知見を獲得することなど、やる気・意欲の喚起法・メカニズムの解明によって、積極的に社会に貢献する若者を数多く育成するための知見を1つ1つ積み上げていき、その土台を築くことに社会的意義があるといえる。
