Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study is oriented toward a gaming workshop to share the requirements of energy policy issues with citizens and lead to policy co-creation. This study aimed at five points: [1] development of an academic basis for gaming, [2] evaluation of learning effects of energy policy issues, [3] evaluation of learning effects of remote gaming, [4] development and practice of new games, and [5] clarifying the impact of human minds on the achievement of long-term policy goals. Although the [5] has not been achieved due to COVID-19, we have revealed that gaming can be useful in understanding the trade-offs among policy issues and in developing abilities and attitudes toward consensus based on the literature review and empirical evaluation of existing games. Furthermore, we developed a board game that represents the latest policy issues in Japan and demonstrated that the game successfully represents the latest policy issues.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
