腫瘍血管が不規則に開閉し、そこから薬剤が腫瘍組織へ勢いよく漏出するという現象（nano eruption）を発見した。現在この現象の機序解明に取り組んでいる。研究の過程でnano eruptionの直前に、血管壁外側に高輝度の顆粒が出現するという、全く新しい知見を得た。本研究では顕微鏡の撮影条件を工夫してnano eruptionと高輝度顆粒の関係を詳細に観察する。
