Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We planned to prepare the matured self-organized tissue and transplant them into a rat heart with myocardial infarction. We planned to understand the mechanism underlying the therapeutic effect of matured cardiac tissue. The achievements: (1)The mature tissue group demonstrated an improved therapeutic effect on the rat heart with myocardial infarction compared with the control group. (2) Compared with the control group, the matured cardiac tissue demonstrated an enhanced survival after hypoxia culture. In addition, we find the improved survival could be related to the higher expression of myoglobin, cytochrome c, important proteins for cells to receive/use the oxygen. (3) We published/applied 1 paper and 1 patent and gave an oral presentation in 2021 American Heart Association conference.
