Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Due to the ongoing travel restrictions, I was not able to conduct field research in Sri Lanka. I was able to obtain digital copies of archival/historical documents relevant to my book manuscript. The book manuscript is almost ready for submission and I am discussing publishing options with Academic Publishers.
I presented my work virtually at five workshops: a)National University of Singapore, 11/02/2021; b)University of Catania (Italy), 05/04/2021; c) National University of Malaysia, 09/22/2021; d)Durham University (UK), 11/16/2021; e)AAS Conference in Hawaii, 03/26/2022.
One peer-reviewed article was published in Social Sciences and Missions. One online article was published in The Diplomat(2022/02/04).

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

Travel restrictions have made it impossible to carry out ethnographic fieldwork.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

I plan to conduct fieldwork in Sri Lanka in 2022.
I will present my work at two international conferences already confirmed: AAR-American Association of Religion, and AAA- American Anthropological Association.
I will publish an article in a special issue of the journal HAU.
I will finalize a contract for the publication of the book.

Causes of Carryover

Due to the travel restrictions.
I will participate in two international conferences in the USA (Nov 2022).
I plan to conduct fieldwork in Sri Lanka (August 2022).
