Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
From a theoretical point of view, the results of my research on trauma led me to formulate, in continuity and discontinuity with Michel Foucault, the thesis of an “End of the clinic”. This thesis can be considered an important contribution to the field.
From a practical point of view, 20 mental health professionals residing in Japan have been trained in Psychological First Aid during the IMHPJ 2021 annual conference I organized, entitled “Caring in the digital world and in disaster”.
Simultaneously, I have initiated with colleagues all over the world the Cov-Care project assessing the traumatic impact of the current pandemic on mental health professionals and their patients. The questionnaire is available in 5 languages and has already been filled by hundreds of colleagues.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The study is progressing rather smoothly.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Between 20 to 40 volunteers will be trained IN PFA before Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. (May-June 2021)
The questionnaire Cov-care has already been filled by hundreds of colleagues and will stay available during a few months. Primary analysis of the responses is progressing.
Other research components (e.g., History of 19th century French Psychiatry) are in progress too.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The program was delayed because of the current pandemic preventing trips abroad and invitation of foreign speakers in Japan. Publications are forthcoming 2 books about the "End of the Clinic" in French and Japanese, and the corresponding translation and publication fees will be used in due time FY2021 or FY2022. The same applies for article processing charges related to other components of the study.
