Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Feminist philosophy of science includes multiple lines and positions within it, but all of them generally share the emphasis on the "diversity" of scientific knowledge-producing communities. In these arguments, diversity is regarded not only as an ethical and social imperative, but also as an effective function for the objectivity of scientific knowledge, i.e., as an epistemological or epistemic benefit concerning the content of scientific knowledge. In this study, I have classified representative positions within feminist philosophy of science, clarified the concept of "diversity" on which each position relies, and examined the claims of each position regarding the relationship between the objectivity of scientific knowledge and the diversity of the scientific community.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
