Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose was this study was to investigate the influence of Sino-Vietnamese sounds on learning and recognition of Japanese Kanji words for Vietnamese learners of advanced Japanese through the interviews and the phycological experiments. The results showed that (1) although there were big individual differences, each learner strategically chose how to use the knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese sounds, and (2) Vietnamese learners’ knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese sounds affects the processing of Japanese Kanji words.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまでにベトナム日本語学習者の母語の漢越音知識に着目した研究はいくつかあったものの,実証的に検討したものは多くなかった。近年,ベトナム人日本語学習者が急増し,その特徴に注目が集まる中,本研究は,インタビューや筆記テスト,心理学実験を組み合わせて母語の漢越音知識が漢字や漢字単語の学習及び処理に与える影響やその個人差を実証的に明らかにした点で意義があるといえる。
