Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
As described in the previous report, due to the continuing influence of the COVID-19 pandemic the situation in schools and classes continues to be quite different to pre-pandemic norms. In 2021, co-researchers and participants from the private language school sector were invited to participate in this research project. Further resources for teaching were, and continue to be collected and created. We are set to conduct the main portion of the study beginning in May of 2022, with publication and presentation happening nearer to the end of 2022 and early 2023.

Causes of Carryover |
In 2021 as well, there were zero travel expenses, personnel expenditure, or remuneration expenses due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead the focus was put on creating and trialing materials for the project. With better understanding thanks to the experience from 2021, funds in 2022 will go toward publication and presentation related expenses, and toward making the teaching methods and materials available publicly after the data is gathered and analyzed.
