Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the fourth year of this project (2022-2023), I have finished analyzing my data, and presented my main findings at an international conference (ICEDU) in March 2023. I have also published one paper on the preliminary findings and am preparing a more substantial manuscript for publication in an international journal.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
After the initial setbacks I experienced in the first two years of the grant, I am pleased to report I have nearly finished my research aims. I applied for and was granted a one-year extension (2023-2024) in order to finish my last two major goals: present my main findings at AAAL in March 2024 in Houston, and also publish the main findings in a major international journal.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I have finished analyzing both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the data, including the data from the initial survey, as well as the 12 hours of interview data I collected from the subset of participants from the survey. Though I have presented on the main findings of the qualitative data at ICEDU this past March, I still would like to triangulate this data with the data from the survey, and report these findings at AAAL next March.
In terms of manuscript writing, I am working on expanding the exploratory findings reported in the related publication published in 2023 to a more substantial paper suitable for publication in a major international journal.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I would like to present my findings at AAAL, but because the call for paper submission deadline is so early for this conference, I missed the opportunity in 2022-2023. Instead, I have extended my grant by one year so that I can instead have this opportunity in March of 2024. There are also some other minor expenses I expect related to preparing my second grant-related publication.
