Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In FY2020, the main part of the data collection was completed, with Q-sort activities and questionnaires collected from 89 participants in 2 prefectures of Japan. An initial statistical analysis of the Q-sort data, along with a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the questionnaire data, was conducted, and an interim dissemination event was held with participants and academic stakeholders to share the initial results. In addition to progress with the fieldwork and analysis, a journal article was published in The British Journal of Criminology, and 2 other journal articles are currently being written.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The impact of COVID-19 has had a profound impact on the ability to participate and present at domestic and international conferences, with almost all major conferences cancelled or postponed during FY2020. For this reason, it was not possible to engage in conferences for this financial year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
For FY2021, the project will focus on further analysing the collected data, writing and submitting journal articles to top international criminology and drug policy journals, and disseminating results with stakeholders in Japan.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Since I was unable to attend any conferences during FY2020, the remaining budget from FY2020 will be used to support conference participation during FY2021.
