Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the second year, I focus on designing HRI experiments for the legal validation of GDPR on the three variables from the theoretical review. The purpose is to analyze if any legal gaps emerge when it is applied to healthcare robots. A laboratory experiment was designed to test our research questions. We developed three novel scenarios to test the subjective as well as objective criteria to evaluate the effect of different interaction styles of the NAO humanoid robot. Our results show that a robot’s embodiment will have an influence on current GDPR. The results have been published as “HRI for Legal Validation: On Embodiment and Data Protection” at the IEEE RO-MAN. In addition, the theoretical study has been published as a book chapter at the Cambridge Handbook of the Law of Algorithms..
