This research project examines how American philanthropy molded postwar labor relations with the concept of "productivity". Not only the idea of social democracy but also the concept of productivity was a key engine to promote world economy after WWII.

アメリカにおいては第二次世界大戦から１９６０年代は民主党政権に大きな影響をあたえたニューディーラーや反共リベラルの黄金時代であった。一方、日本でも、政治だけでなく、労働組合や若手経営者には民主社会主義が存在感を示した。両者の存在は、両国における政治文化や経済社会の現状を規定する要因の一つとなっている。
