Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this research is to construct critical pedagogy as a theory of democratic education in terms of mobilization. First, I clarified how critical pedagogy tried to mobilize people by examining the concept of historical memory. Second, I explicated how learners became resistant subjects by drawing on the research which examined Paulo Freire's theory through the lens of psychoanalysis.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究課題の成果が有する最大の意義は、クリティカル・ペダゴジーが傾向として有していた動員の内実を詳細に探究し、これまで当該分野で十分に検討されてこなかったこの概念を組み込んだ上で、民主主義教育論を提示した点である。これは、熟議民主主義論などのはじめとする、理性的主体による合理的行為を念頭に置いたものとは別の民主主義教育論を提示し、多様な民主主義教育実践を解釈・開発するための視点を整備したという点において、学術的にも社会的にも意義があるものと考えられる。
