Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The FY2020 has been extremely challenging and problematic. This research project is heavily dependent upon direct engagement with key-stakeholders, such as teachers, students and educational experts. During the FY2020 most research elements that need such personal contact have been put on hold due to Corona. It was not possible to meet the first research objective for FY2020. However, research objective (2) Identify shortcomings in teaching materials and approaches has been partially met. These results have been presented at a seminar in Australia (University of Newcastle).

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
As mentioned above, the conceptualization of the research project requires direct and personal engagement with key-stakeholders. Unfortunately, the Corona pandemic has made this impossible and severely impacted the progress of this work. Despite the best efforts to further the project, only a small progress has been achieved.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In good hope that the Corona pandemic will have a smaller impact on this research in the future, it is anticipated to make good progress during the current FY2021. The focus of the project has been adjusted to reduce the dependence of data gathering on direct and personal engagement. It is planned to apply to an extension of the project so a successful completion can be achieved.

Causes of Carryover |
Project delay due to Corona requires shifting funds from FY2020 to FY2021
