Outline of Final Research Achievements |
From April 2019 to March 2021, the learning strategy named as “Preoperative surgical planning by medical students with project-based learning (PrjBL) approach” was conducted for approximately 350 students. The change of students' awareness on preoperative surgical management was evaluated through a questionnaire format. The results showed that the students' interests in knowledge about surgical panning, such as surgical anatomy, surgical indications and risk assessment increased at the end of the training, while their interest in knowledge about surgery itself, such as surgical technique and procedures, decreased. This learning strategy was presented at several domestic academic societies and research meetings, including the Japan Surgical Society Annual Meeting (twice), and were also published twice in the Journal of the Japanese Surgical Society.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
