Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Ocean wind, waves and current in rough seas along the North-South route have an significant effects on safe ship navigation, and the relation between the ocean states and ship safety is necessary to be figured out, to help keep the safe navigation. Besides, the mooring problem in port facing the oceans is also an important issue. The ship mooring problem has been studied, by using both the numerical simulation methods and on-board observations, case studies have been conducted and then verified by the in-situation observation data. 2 journal papers have been published focused on the related topic.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The ship mooring problem in port of the Southern hemisphere has been focused on, which will be an important part of the study on the North-south ship route study.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Big data and more information of the ship navigation along the North-South route is supposed to be collected as soon as the COVID19 has less influences, to make a further study on the safe and economical ship navigation along the North-South route, to help the investigation of mechemims of the safe navigation in rough seas
|
Causes of Carryover |
Effects of the COVID19 have made business trip impossible in the past year, which leads to the incurring amount to be used next fiscal year. The amount is supposed to be used for trip fee going to collect on-board observation data.
