Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Several fine bubble generation devices have been improved and tested in terms of gas absorption performance. It was possible to improve the batch-type system for the generation of fine bubbles. Also, a continuous-type fine bubble generation system was developed. The continuous system can operate periodically or continuously. In each case, fine bubbles, around 300 million bubbles/mL, were generated. The combination of slug flow of water containing fine bubbles and nitrogen or air in small channels make gas diffusion slower and increases polydispersity of fine bubbles. The size of fine bubbles was measured using Nano Tracking Analysis to measure the amount and size of fine bubbles. The results have shown a mean bubble size between 180 and 230 nm and between 300 to 400 million bubbles/mL.
