Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Two types of iron-catalyzed reactions are developed for synthesis of thiophene polymers and 1,4-dihydropentalene materials. 1) Iron-catalyzed thienyl C-H polymerization compatible with various donor units was developed. One new polymer worked as HTMs in perovskite solar cells achieving 21.3% PCE. 2) Iron-catalyzed one-pot tandem cyclization for strained 1,4-dihydropentalenes was developed. The method allows access to various indenoindenes including their thiophene congeners for NIR photodetectors.
