Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the present study, we investigated whether brain activity during the presentation of other people's faces and impression ratings of those faces predicted the actual impressions that people would have when they talked to others in face-to-face situation, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The results showed that pre-recorded impression ratings of the other person's face significantly predicted impressions of the actual conversation with that person, while the brain activity for each face obtained during the fMRI task did not significantly predict impressions of others during the conversation task.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
