Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, we are studying a transcription factor called Phox2b, which is involved in the development of the autonomic nervous system, such as respiration. Through repeated research, we have now discovered that this transcription factor Phox2b may be involved not only in respiration but also in mastication and saliva secretion in the field of dentistry. Conference presentations (Physiological analysis of small reticular neurons expressing the transcription factor Phox2b, 2019, 13th Meeting on Sensory-Motor Integration Mechanisms in the Trigeminal Nerve Region and Electrophysiological and Morphological Analysis of Phox2-positive Neurons in the Small Reticular System, 2020, 62nd (The 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Basic Dental Medicine). We are currently writing a paper for submission, which will be published within this year.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
