Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aime of this study was to clarify the impact of improving pharmacists' perational efficiency on patient waiting time by conducting a survey at a dispensing pharmacy, and propose an improvement strategy with use of Discrete event simulation (DES) model. We conducted a cross-sectional survey at a single dispensing pharmacy to clarify the patient waiting time. Further,we propose an improvement strategy developed with use of a DES model. As a result,a total of 780 patients received pharmacy services during the study period. Also we found that introduction of Automaticaly one dose package system was an effective strategy for reduction of current and future waiting time of patients. In addition, it was predicted that sufficient time could be spent on medication instruction for high-risk drug prescriptions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
