Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
a) For FY19, one peer reviewed journal paper, "Is Less Sedentary Behavior, More Physical Activity, or Higher Fitness Associated with Sleep Quality? A Cross-Sectional Study in Singapore." was published. One conference poster "the Association of Fitness and Fatness with Incident Prediabetes in Women: A cohort study" was presented at domestic conference. b) Two abstracts submitted in November 2019 to the international conference, American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 67th Annual Meeting which was scheduled to be held in May 2020 and will be held in 17th of June virtually because of the COVID-19. The titles are "Independent and joint associations of fitness and fatness with incident prediabetes in women: A Cohort study" and "Nonexercise prediction equation for cardiorespiratory fitness without the use of physical activity" and they were published at ACSM’s web page. c) I got the approval to use the long-term health check and physical data of Tokyo Gas from the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBIOHN). The data will be utilized to verify the method I proposed in this research. I was named as an official research collaborator of NIBIOHN.

Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
All data is acquired and being analyzed. To additional data sets were acquired from Singapore and the USA.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Negotiation with USA hospital to use estimated fitness to predict the morbidity and mortality of CV-19 and hypertension is separate investigations.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The trip to the U.S. for the meeting with research collaborators was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The trip will be planned again during this fiscal year.
