Outline of Annual Research Achievements

The research activities initially included preparing the data. The first manuscript for this project on "Fish, n-3 PUFA, n-6 PUFA and risk of disabling dementia in Japan" has been shared with the coauthors several times

In the second half of last year the research methods changed and therefore all analyses had to be revised to survival analysis and performed again using cox proportional hazard model. The discussion for the existing manuscript had to be rewritten to reflect the new results.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

After careful consideration. the collaborator experts recommended a shift from a nested case control study to using the larger cohort.
The first manuscript has been drafted and shared with coauthors several times. We are performing additional analyses and revising to consider various factors potentially influencing the association such as cardiovascular health.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

A second proposal has been submitted on Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) and risk of disabling dementia using the same data.

Causes of Carryover

The application initially included international presentations and attending international workshops to deepen my knowledge in the field. Unfortunately due to Covid19 neither international conferences nor workshops could be attended aside from a few web-based opportunities.
