Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、脳循環動態と脳微小血管障害(CSVD)の関連を明らかにし、さらに有酸素性運動によるCSVDに対する影響を検証することである。今年度は、この目的を達成するために3本の筆頭論文を英字雑誌に発表することができた(共著論文を含め計13本)。①CSVD指標の一つである異方性比率(FA)を測定し、若年から中高齢の運動鍛錬者と非鍛錬者を比較した結果、中高齢の非運動鍛錬者では若年者よりもFAが有意に低い値を示した一方で、中高齢の運動鍛錬者のFA値は若年者と同等であった。この結果から、有酸素運動はCSVDに対し予防効果があることが示された(Tarumi et al. NeuroImage 2021)。②心臓と脳を繋ぐ近位大動脈は伸展性が高く、心臓からの拍動を緩衝することで、CSVDの発症リスクを低下すると考えられている。そこで我々は、運動鍛錬者と非鍛錬者を対象に近位大動脈コンプライアンスを測定した。その結果、運動鍛錬者の近位大動脈コンプライアンスは、非鍛錬者よりも有意に高いことが示された(Tarumi et al. Med Sci Sports Exerc 2021)。③脳へ流入する動脈血液は、頭蓋内において静脈血流や骨髄液(CSF)循環と連動することで頭蓋内圧を一定に保っている。しかし運動中は心拍出量が増加するため、脳循環動態に大きな影響を及ぼすと考えられる。そこで我々は、ハンドグリップ運動中に、MRI装置を使用し脳血流やCSF循環を計測した。その結果、運動中、一心拍中の脳血流やCSF循環は有意に低下することが示された。一方、1分間あたりの時間平均では心拍数の上昇により、脳血流は有意に増加していた(Tarumi et al. J Physiol 2021)。以上、今年度は本プロジェクトの2年目にあたり、研究目的を達成するために複数の重要な論文を発表することができた。

これまで収集したデータを論文化するとともに、研究計画書に基づいて新たなデータ収集を行う。

Causes of Carryover

参加予定だった学会や共同研究がキャンセルになったため次年度使用額が生じた。
次年度使用額は、論文投稿費や学会参加費、データ収集時に必要となる設備使用費や被験者謝金、消耗品などに使用する予定である。
