Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
For this year I basically focused on literature review examining areas and concepts of fanship, fandom and consumerism. This will form the core constructs of my study in terms of model formation, and questionnaire as well as scale. I also obtained some ideas and feedback from having attended conferences. In addition to that, I have started discussions with the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) to collaborate on writing a case study with them in order to gain insights into the world of a football, the ecosystem, the fans and the points of engagement(which everyone is aware that Europe games such as Champions League and Euro Cup gather more fans and viewers than any other continent). The case will be completed by late summer 2020.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The literature on fanship and fandom were not abundantly available and it took much longer to find the relevant literature. On top of that, interviews that were initially planned with a sports organization have been postponed to 2020.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
For 2020, the plan is to continue literature review and conduct a first study on exploring fanship constructs. This is planned to take place in June, 2020. The results are planned to be submitted to a journal by Sept 2020. On top of that, the interview with a sports organization on streaming will be conducted in July 2020.

Causes of Carryover |
I was unable to meet the research project milestones hence there was a balance from last fiscal year.
