Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This study applies a multi-governance research framework to ongoing energy transition efforts in Southeast Asia, with Myanmar as the primary case study. It examines the role, arrangements, and processes of how foreign aid and development assistance influence the transformation of energy systems. It is based on a combined approach of qualitative content analysis and expert interviews and a quantitative online survey. The project's results have been published in international peer-reviewed articles and at international academic conferences, workshops and public symposia. In addition, public-academic events have been organized at Kyushu University to integrate the project's results in the wider policy discourse on sustainable energy finance in Southeast Asia.
