Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the year of 2021, I researched applicability of the infra-free AR enhanced indoor navigation system based on the theoretical and preliminary tests achieved in the last two years. A system supporting indoor map producing, indoor positioning and navigation was developed and distributed in several markets. The system consists a map producing platform and a user-end navigation application. The map producing platform builds the indoor maps for positioning and navigation; the navigation application enables precise indoor positioning and multi-floor AR navigation. The system was distributed in real shopping markets and the experiment results shows a promising application vision with low cost and high performance.

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
In 2021, the research basically moves as planned and real application systems were successfully developed and distributed. But the research pace is inevitably affected by the pandemic of COVID. Firstly, the pandemic highly increases the costs of international communication, months are in quarantine. Secondly, the experiments were affected by regional shut down policies and early ending policies.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to research on the ways to apply the search on COVID expression. For example, navigation by personal smartphones is safer than using public touching screen maps; on the other hand, as home-working and meta-gathering becomes popular, I plan to apply to combine the system with meta-tech; thirdly, the experiments shows that smartphones are not the perfect device for AR navigation, and if possible, I plan to research better platforms for the AR navigation, such as smart glasses and goggles.

Causes of Carryover |
According to the research plan, the project will continue researching to combine current results with meta-tech. And costs will spent on devices, traveling, experiments and others.
