Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

4: Progress in research has been delayed.

Reason

This research focuses on the tourism impacts, specifically on the impacts of overtourism to local residents and tourists.
As the impact of COVID-19 pandemic since December 2019, global tourism industry since then dramatically reduced or temporarily stopped. This is the reason for the adjustment of the research design and the delay of research survey.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

At this moment, I got one research article accepted and going to be published, as shown in the achievements.
At the same time, I am working to adjust the research design for the interview survey. Based on the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic relieved, this year, the tourism situation seems to have significantly recovered. Therefore, the survey is feasible to conduct in July - August 2023. It is expected that the data obtained fit with the research aim, and to make sure safety of all surveyors and survey participants.

Causes of Carryover

As tourism industry has been significantly recovered this year, the survey will be able to conducted to facilitate the research.
