Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this study was to explore models of administrative pregnancy and childcare support suited to the needs of citizens and to develop reference indicators for administrative bodies. This would ensure that prospective parents and child-rearing families feel secure during pregnancy and childcare. Although part of the research plan changed to an online survey due to the COVID-19 pandemic preventing planned overseas field research, this study involved interviews with families raising children, questionnaires, field research and a literature review of social systems related to childcare support in Japan and Finland. As a result, 15 basic requirements were proposed as a guideline for designing childcare support services in administrative bodies. Furthermore, a new parenting support tool was co-designed with local authorities in line with these basic requirements and implemented in society.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
