Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main purpose of this research was to examine the unique cultural context whereby objects of Islamic Art appealed to Japanese audience, with a particular emphasis on “Persian” pottery which was avidly amassed and depicted by Japanese painters from the mid 1950s to the early 1970s.
